Terms of Use
Last updated October 31, 2026
- Dewey is free and comes as-is, with no guarantees.
- Your official grade is whatever your school says, not what Dewey shows.
- Use it with your own account, and follow your school's rules.
- Classes you save are for your own studying, not for sharing.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover the Dewey Chrome extension, the Dewey Android and iPhone apps, and this website (together, “Dewey”). Dewey is made by Owen, an individual developer (“I” or “me”). By installing or using Dewey you agree to these terms. If you're under 18, check with a parent or guardian that it's OK to use Dewey.
2. What Dewey is
Dewey is an independent tool that reads your Schoology account and shows it to you in a different way. It is not made, endorsed, or supported by Schoology, PowerSchool, or any school. Schoology is a trademark of its owner.
The Android and iPhone apps are in beta. Things may break or change.
3. Using it fairly
- Use Dewey only with your own Schoology account.
- Follow your school's rules, including its acceptable-use and academic-integrity policies, and Schoology's own terms. If your school doesn't allow tools like this, don't use it there.
- Don't use Dewey to get into anything you couldn't already see, to overload Schoology, or to interfere with tests.
- Don't sell Dewey, or pass off a copy or changed version as your own.
4. Grades are estimates
Grades, what-if scores, “score you need” numbers and graphs are calculated from what Schoology shows and may be wrong or out of date. Teachers can weight, drop, curve or change grades in ways Dewey can't see. Your official grade is the one your school gives you. Don't rely on Dewey for decisions that matter without checking with your teacher.
The same goes for due dates and submission status: check Schoology before you count something as turned in.
5. Saved classes
When you save a class, the files belong to whoever made them: your teachers, your school, or other authors. Dewey makes a personal copy for your own studying. Don't share, post or sell them. Your own work stays yours.
6. Who owns Dewey
Dewey's code, design, name and logo belong to me. I give you a free, personal, non-transferable permission to use Dewey as described here. That permission ends if you break these terms.
7. Optional services
If you connect neo-plan or Claude, those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and they apply to your use of them. The privacy policy explains what Dewey sends to each.
8. No warranty
Dewey is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Schoology can change at any time, and parts of Dewey may stop working when it does.
9. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, missed assignments or grades, arising from your use of Dewey. Because Dewey is free, my total liability for any claim is limited to zero dollars, or the smallest amount the law allows.
10. Changes and ending
I may update Dewey or these terms, or stop offering Dewey. Updated terms go on this page with a new date at the top; using Dewey after that means you accept them. You can stop using Dewey any time by removing it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
